This is a very attractive antique oak newel post from the late 1800’s. It begins at the top with a large ball finial with a simple grooved pattern. Following the finial is a squared section with ogee corners and fabulous pinwheel roundels. A graceful turned section connects the roundel panels to the tapered bottom of the newel, which has very nice canted edges. This attractive newel post is in very good antique condition. It is 49” tall, 7 3/8” wide, and has a 7 ¼” base.
