Description

This wonderful pair of antique iron exterior sconces is signed by its maker, the N. L. & S. Company, and includes its patent date of January 14, 1924. The cast back plates are ornamented with volutes and florets, and come out to squared arms with hexagonal cone-shaped finials which echo the shape of the lantern tops. The tops of the lanterns slant down to accept fabulous leaded slag glass shades composed of hammered amber slag glass and granite green slag glass. The wall lamps are in good antique condition. There are is one tight hairline in the glass (pictured), that is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the beauty of the piece. The sconces have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces are 11 1/2” tall, 4 ½” wide, and extend 8 ½” from the wall.
