Description
This is a magnificent antique five-tiered Georgian figural chandelier with cameos of Art Nouveau maidens, circa 1910. This six-light “wedding cake” chandelier begins with a beautifully ornamented canopy with acanthus detail, and comes down in a chain to a gilded bronze loop finial. Six leaves extend below the finial, each with a dangling teardrop prism. Below, the chandelier comes down in a cascade of circular prisms to a swag border. The border is ornamented with six turquoise cameos, each adorned with a woman’s face. The chandelier continues in five tiers of “icicle” prisms, and is finished in a large, faceted crystal ball. This light fixture and its prisms are in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body is 42 ½” long and 16” wide; the fixture is 55” long overall.
