This is an amazing antique Neoclassical five-light chandelier with “icicle” prisms, in its original, beautifully worn silver plate finish over brass. Circa 1910, this silver plated chandelier begins with an elegant loop finial wrapped in leaves, which supports a chandelier body accented with dangling prisms. The body flares out to a cylindrical, fluted section to which the arms are attached with intricately cast acanthus appliqués. Hanging from each arm is a splendid bobeche adorned with a beautifully cast leaf-and-dart pattern and a dozen prisms. The bottom of the chandelier finishes in an acorn finial surrounded by prisms. This light fixture is in excellent condition with a lovely patina; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The width of the chandelier is 21”, the length of the chandelier body only is 19”, and the overall length is 34”.
