This is a splendid pair of antique double-arm Georgian sconces, in their original silver plate with prisms and brass accents. The sconces, dating from the 1920’s, feature a finely cast oval back plate crowned with ribbons and bordered in bellflowers. The center of the back plate is ornamented with a large starburst, accented in the center with a brass floret button. A reeded arm extends outward from each side of the sconce, supporting a brass foliate wax-pan, hung with “icicle” prisms, and a sleek, silver-plated candle-cup. The bottom of the back plate finishes in an elongated acanthus design. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces measure 7″ wide, 12” tall, and have a projection of 4 3/8″.
