Description
This is an extraordinary, rare two-light lantern dating from the early 1900’s. The lantern has a dome-shaped top with anthemion crowns and a large bronze quatrefoil finial. Below the dome is a scalloped ring that joins to a corresponding bottom ring by four bead-and-reel detailed straps with fabulously cast cherubs as top finials, and well-designed honeysuckle bottom finials. The light fixture is in excellent condition and has been fitted with a milk glass cylinder. There are no breaks or cracks to the glass. It has been professionally rewired, and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The overall diameter is 13 ½”, the length of the lantern only is 38”, and the overall length is 66 ¼”. There are very similar lanterns also available, under item # NC385-RW and # NC391-RW.
