Description
This is a superb pair of antique double-arm cast bronze sconces in their original polychrome finish. Made and signed by the Lion Company, these sconces are marked with a patent date of April 21, 1925, and feature an unusual basket shape. Each sconce features a basket with a green reeded loop handle, wound with vines studded with red and violet flowers. The bottom of the basket features torsade detail and finishes in a cluster of leaves, with an elongated foliate finial. Green curled bands arch outward, supporting the sconce arms. Each arm is crowned with a foliate wax pan and a sleek candle cup, finished underneath in a charming acorn finial. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The sconces are 16 1/8” tall, 11” wide, and project 6 ¾” from the wall.
