Description
This is a splendid antique five-light pewter Neoclassical chandelier in its original polychrome finish, circa 1920’s. The chandelier begins with a beautifully detailed canopy, coming down in a chain to a volute loop finial with green foliate accents. The underside of the chandelier features a gadrooned center surrounded by a bead-and-reel border, with volute and foliate detail around the outer edge of the chandelier body. Five arms extend from the chandelier, each adorned with foliate detail. Each arm supports a shade holder with subtle gadrooning and volute detail, and a sleek Sheffield style shade. This light fixture is in excellent condition. One of the shades has a chip on the inside of one edge (pictured). The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 20” wide and 16” tall, and the fixture is 37” long overall.
