Description
This is a splendid pair of antique Neoclassical double-arm sconces, in their original silver plate, circa 1910, with smooth teardrop prisms. Crowned with a beautifully cast anthemion, the backplate features a circular design with stylized foliate detail, bordered in foliate accents. The arms flow out from the back plate, ornamented with acanthus leaves and supporting gadrooned bobeches, each hung with a sleek teardrop prism. Each sconce finishes in a graceful acanthus leaf. These silver plated wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces are 10 7/8” tall, 8” wide, and project 4 ¼” from the wall.
