Description

These are two fantastic antique cast bronze Eastlake door knob sets, dating from the 19th Century, with their matching cast bronze rosettes, keyhole covers, and decorative mortise locks. The locks are signed by P. & F. Corbin. Each knob features an intricate design, beginning in the center with a circle surrounded by scallops. A double square, accented with a fan shape on each corner, encloses the center circle. A stylized floret, followed by an arch, ornaments each side of the square. A beaded border finishes the front design of the knob. The back of each knob is also intricately detailed with a bead and fan pattern. The escutcheons feature a coordinating design, and the plate of the mortise lock is ornamented with an asymmetrical design of stylized leaves and flowers. Each doorknob measures 2 ¼” in diameter and 2” deep; each rosette is 2” in diameter; the keyhole covers are 1 ¾” by 1 1/8”. The decorative sides of the mortise locks measure 6 1/8” by 15/16”. They are in very good antique condition with a lovely patina and some minor paint splatters. THE PRICE LISTED IS FOR EACH SET; THERE ARE TWO SETS AVAILABLE. Matching doorknobs are also listed under item # NDK29-RW.
