This is a fabulous antique Aesthetic Movement slate mantel, dating from the 1870’s, in its original faux finish. The firebox opening is surrounded by a faux marble border, with green and red squares surrounded by a black border. The rest of the mantel has a wood finish, beautifully executed with an abstract foliate design and accents made to resemble mother-of-pearl inlays. This mantel is in very good antique condition with a worn finish. It measures 45 ¼” tall, 60” wide, and 12” deep; the firebox opening is 27 ¼” wide and 30 5/8” tall. The mantel disassembles for shipping.
