This is a fabulous antique five-light chandelier, c. 1920’s, in its original polychrome finish. The chandelier is signed by its maker, the Riddle Company. It features a polychrome canopy ornamented with egg-and-dart and leaf detail, and comes down in a chain to a loop finial resting in a foliate bowl, below which is a foliate baluster. Five arms, connected by foliate volutes, extend from the center of the chandelier to support leaf-and-dart shade holders with simple squared shades. This light fixture is in excellent condition, and the shades are also in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks, just the expected fleabites around the rims. It has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 17” wide and 17 1/2” tall, and the fixture is 35” long overall.
