This is a splendid antique five-tiered Neoclassical chandelier, retaining its original silver plate. Circa 1910, this three-light “wedding cake” chandelier begins with an elegant canopy encircled by stylized foliate detail, and it comes down in a chain to a torsade loop finial with foliate accents. Below the finial is a sleek silver plated baluster with foliate accents. Below, the chandelier body features an intricately cast egg-and-dart border, followed by five tiers of sparkling crystal icicle prisms. It is finished at the bottom in a large, faceted crystal ball. This silver plated light fixture and its prisms are in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body is approx. 26 ½” long and 17 ½” wide; the fixture is approx. 40 ½” long overall.
