Magnificent antique Empire style chandelier with prisms, dating from the early 1900’s and found in a home in Minneapolis, MN. This “wedding cake” chandelier begins with a decorative ceiling canopy, coming down in chain to a loop finial and small platform below. The upper chandelier body features an Empire style canopy of graduated crystal prisms, cascading out to a round silver band. The decorative band is ornamented with stylized flowers and foliates, and supports four sleek arm that come out to support beaded bobeches; each bobeche is hung with a curtain of “icicle” prisms. The chandelier continues below with five tiers of sparkling “icicle” prisms and is finished in a hanging faceted ball. This light fixture and its prisms are in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation.
