Description
A beautiful antique nickel sconce with glass shade, salvaged from the historic “Windsor” home—also known as the Castle Above the Clouds—perched atop Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. Built in the 1930s by George and Elizabeth Scholze, the residence reflects the couple’s refined taste and attention to detail. George Scholze, second-generation owner of the prominent Scholze Tannery in Chattanooga, helped earn the city its nickname, “Saddle Capital of the World.”
It is in excellent antique condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the rim. The sconce has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. It measures 8-3/4” wide, approx. 5-3/4” tall, and has a projection of 5”.
