Description
An elegant fireplace screen salvaged from the master bedroom of Windsor House —also known as the “Castle Above the Clouds”—on Lookout Mountain, Tennessee.
This finely detailed piece features a wrought iron frame with applied brass ornament, now finished in a unified painted surface. The design is composed of flowing vines, stylized leaves, and floral elements arranged in a balanced, symmetrical pattern, with figural butterfly accents woven throughout.
The arched form and light, airy composition reflect the Spanish Revival character of the home, where decorative ironwork played an important role in both structure and ornament.
Originally positioned at the master bedroom fireplace, this screen served both a functional and decorative role, adding refinement and visual interest to the space.
This piece measures 30″ tall and 37-1/2″ wide. The brackets on the backside extend 3-3/4″ from the frame, and the brass butterflies project 2” from the frontside.
