Magnificent antique Empire style chandelier with prisms, dating from the early 1900’s and found in a home in New York. This “wedding cake” chandelier begins with a decorative ceiling canopy, coming down in chain to a loop finial and small platform below and decorative band. The band is ornamented with stylized ribbons and foliates, and supports four sleek arm that come out to support beaded bobeches; each bobeche is hung with a curtain of “icicle” prisms. The chandelier continues below with four tiers of sparkling “icicle” prisms and is finished in a hanging faceted ball. This light fixture and its prisms are in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body is approximately 20-3/4″ wide (diagonally), 15-1/2″ wide (square), and is 46-1/2″ long overall.
