Welcome to Preservation Station, Your Source for Antique Chandeliers & Sconces and Amazing Architectural Salvage
Preservation Station

At Preservation Station, we take great time and travel extensively to locate the finest examples of architectural antiques for our customers, including a large selection of antique chandeliers and sconces, and an extensive inventory of antique hardware, salvaged doors, stained glass, mantels, and columns.  We buy individual pieces throughout the U.S. and Europe, as well as complete salvage rights to buildings built 1930's or before.

Whether you are building a new home, restoring an old one, or decorating an urban loft space, we can provide expert consultation as you pick the right artifacts for your project.

Featured Item of the Week: Amazing Antique Carved Walnut Boxed Newel Post, 19th Century
Architectural Salvage

This is a rare, superbly carved walnut boxed newel post from the late 1800’s. It features a substantial urn-shaped finial with gadrooned edges. Beneath the finial is a handsome fan design, followed by a graceful pattern of foliate and volute detail. The carving is framed underneath by a simple dot pattern, which gives way to understated panels with chamfered edges.

This newel post and others can be viewed in detail through our Shop Inventory under Newel Posts and, of course, in our showroom.

We get new stock on a regular basis, so please check back, as we will be showcasing exciting new inventory daily.  If you are looking for something special, but do not see it in our online Shop Inventory, please contact us.  We have thousands of pieces, and while we try, it is almost impossible to feature them all online.  Email us with your inquiries, and we are happy to check to see if we have what YOU need.

About Our Inventory

Antique light fixtures are a big part of our business. Some of our costumers even refer to us as a lighting store.
We have a huge collection of antique chandeliers and antique sconces. There are always over a hundred chandeliers and over two hundred sconces on display in our showroom, with new arrivals coming in daily.  All of them have been meticulously restored in our workshop and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation (including appropriate canopies, attachment rods, and plenty of chain for chandelier height adjustment). We also have over five hundred old chandeliers and several hundred sconces in our warehouse still awaiting restoration.

Each chandelier and sconce is unique and interesting. We carry a wide variety of styles, including Art Deco, Arts and Crafts, Mission, Gothic Revival, Tudor, Georgian, Adam, Colonial Revival, Spanish Revival, Victorian, Neoclassical, French Country, Art Nouveau, Empire, and Rococo. The age of our lighting ranges from the early 1800’s to the 1940’s. We have wonderful examples of the work of notable American makers, including Cornelius and Baker, Starr, Fellows & Co., E.F. Caldwell & Co., Sterling Bronze Co., Mitchell, Vance & Co., Edward Miller & Co., and Beardslee Chandelier Manufacturing Co.

Over the past seven years, designers, homeowners and builders have placed thousands of our antique light fixtures throughout the United States. We have supplied lighting for small bungalows and lofts, and have also provided all of the lighting for numerous multi-million-dollar mansions.

Antique and salvaged doors are also a huge part of our business. We have doors, doors, and more doors -- hundreds of them -- throughout our showroom. We carry one-panel, two-panel, three-panel, four-panel, and five-panel, as well as six-panel, doors.  There are also hundreds of exterior doors, including 1930’s and earlier American salvaged single doors, pairs of doors, and even magnificent European castle doors. We carry a variety of pocket doors, French style doors, complete entryways and bronze doors.

We have a good variety of wood, marble, stone and cast iron mantels. They are in multiples of sizes and styles, including Arts and Crafts, Victorian, Italianate, French and Federal.

The rest of our inventory includes thousands of doorknobs, plates and hinges, corbels, lots of newel posts, stained and leaded glass windows, iron window guards, decorative terra cotta, floor and wall register grates, complete staircases, antique fireplace and vestibule tile, columns, claw foot tubs, foot baths, unusual sinks and much more.

Our website shows just a small portion of our inventory, so please visit us at our Nashville location. If you are looking for something in particular, please call us or email us for availability. Our staff will be happy to help!
